 There was standing room only at GATO Con for Premature Punchline’s two performances.  Here is a picture of the audience from the first performance.

Premature Punchline, along with several guest performers from Zero Untitled, will perform at GATO Con this weekend at the Memorial Student Union Building. GATO Con is a Gaming, Anime, Trade, and Otaku convention, hence the acronym. Catch both of our shows!

Performance Times:

Saturday, Feb 22 – 3:00

Sunday, Feb 23 – noon

GATO Con will feature several special guest artists and performers, such as Robert Axelrod, famous voice actor for “The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers”.  GATO con will also feature an Artist’s Alley, vendor boothing, celebrity signings, and several other events!

Amidst the chaos and poetry, jazz hit the “Textual Overture” stage for the first time in its 3 year history. Featured musician was Jorge Chapa played three different jazz tunes throughout the night to punctuate the poetics, prose, and plays. 

The night’s format was a bit more diverse than usual as well. Instead of the usual order of “set” acts and then “open mic”, Director Julio Martinez changed up the format by plugging open mic artists amidst the set acts for diversity’s sake.  With the new format in mind, more musicians and poets read their works.

“Textual Overture”, our ongoing poetry/short/play/live music open mic show will occur at 8:00 at Cafe 5 on Tuesday, Feb 11. Pics will be posted soon, but for now, here is our traditional “ransom note” flyer!
