The Zero Untitled – NYC team have not made a concrete decision on their selections, but that will be posted VERY soon!

 Our 115th show, “Memento Mori” has wrapped up! We are under consideration for a private performance, but those details have yet to pan out. The “Memento Mori” page has been update with several new pictures from the final performance so do check those out!

The Devil’s Haven

 Zero Untitled will be having a CALL FOR PLAYS for our upcoming Christmas show in December. The event, called TEXTUAL OVERTURE, will feature live music, poems, and YOUR plays with a holiday theme in mind. The event will be staged at a restaurant/bar venue in Texas and possibly New York City.

The show has been officially named “Textual Ho Ho Hoverture” and the performance will occur at Cafe 5 on December 16th, 2017.

Submission Guidelines:

• 5-10 minute plays
• 1-3 characters (monologues are acceptable)
• Simple light and sound demands
• Must have a Christmas or “Holidays” theme (scripts not fitting this category will be considered for future productions)
• 12-point Times New Roman ONLY
• Include short BIO information in your cover letter
• Email headline MUST read “Holiday Submission: __(name of your play)___”
• Deadline: December 3^rd
• Performance: mid-December, venues TBA
• NO Submission fee
• Only reading first 100 plays submitted
• Playwrights may submit no more than 2 plays
• NO musicals (sorry)

Throughout the next few weeks, we will be promoting our next Main Stage production of “Memento Mori” with aesthetics designed to reflect the nature of each short play in the performance. These sinful images are curated by “Memento Mori” director Katherine Orozco-Verderber. The first are for Julio Martinez’s world premiere play “The Devil’s Haven.”

 At the recent RealmsCon event on October 7 at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, PrePunch performed their “nerd” themed show, chock full of video game, comic book, Pokemon, and other science fiction and fantasy references.

The troupe performed the following games: Pokemon Dating Game, Penalty Hat, Superheroes, Find the Beelzenef, and more. More photos can be found on the Zero Untitled and Premature Punchline Facebook pages.

Premature Punchline has another show on Thursday night at Comics Live Downtown at Bella Luna in Corpus Christi, TX. 

 “Three Hour Theatre” is our annual play-writing festival that was staged in Brooklyn, NY this year, in collaboration with our new branch Zero Untitled – NYC and the host venue The Way Station. Production took place on Monday, September 25, 2017.

Program director is Anel Carmona, who previously directed “Unending Repetition” (Manhattan Repertory Theatre and Zero Untitled – NYC).

Like last year’s production, “Three Hour Theatre” will be all about playwrights writing short plays for one hour, then directors rehearse actors for an hour, and then the plays are all performed back-to-back-to-back!

Both new and established ZU-NYC actors were Kate Remelius (formerly of the Texas branch), newcomers Stephen Tan and Jacob Edwards. The director of the two plays was another newcomer Seth Roseman. The third play did not have a director and the allotted time ran out.

Performance of “The Devil’s Haven”

The latest edition of Textual Overture has wrapped up an eclectic performance on Thursday, September 21 at Cafe 5 in Kingsville, TX.

Among the performances were new theatre pieces written by Julio Martinez and Michael Verderber.

Martinez’s called “The Devil’s Haven” was a sound-and-text based work that featured performances by Martinez, Josue Villarreal,  Tristan Wolfe, Angelina Rios, Kylie McIntosh, and Annette Otero Otero.

Verderber’s play, a silly golf comedy called “Dogleg” starred Amy Ziyad, Matthew Krug, and Vanessa Guerra with a cameo by Verderber.

The artwork (in form of print) of Mary Maliha was introduced by Katherine Orozco-Verderber. Poetry and open mic performances featured Allison Wonderland, Josue Villarreal, Robert Trujillo, Kylie McIntosh, and others.
