Christmas chaos ensued!

TO Xmas penalty hat (Pictured: Audience member A. Guzman, R. Trujillo, and L. Guerra.)

Textual Overture’s first annual Holiday Show was a great success! As usual, there were a variety of events, readings, play performances, and Christmas tunes performed on both nights – Friday the 19th and Saturday the 20th.   Both nights had slightly different acts as some performers/readers only presented one of the two nights.

On top of the plays, a classic Premature Punchline game (Penalty Hat, pictured) was performed as well! As shown in the picture, ex-Zero Untitled member Allan Guzman dropped by and joined in on the fun on the second day’s performance. Mr. Trujillo was “punished” in the game by being turned into Frosty by the audience with toilet paper.
A full show recap will be posted soon!

Our next production has already begun rehearsals! Our next project is a holiday-themed Textual Overture. What was once a tradition for Premature Punchline, the sleigh reigns have been handed over to the Textual Overture crew.

Since our Christmas shows have been heavily adult-focused, this year’s project will be for families and the kiddos! More information coming soon.

So far, the set list includes plays such as:

“It Never Snows in Texas” written and directed by Beth Marie Cantu

“The Little Match Girl” by Hans Christan Anderson, dir. Michael Verderber

“Thank You, Santa” by Anne Nunley, dir. Beth Marie Cantu

And as always, plenty of Christmas music, poetry, and an open-mic portion! Tentative date is December 19 and 20.
