Zero Untitled’s open mic and short form series, Textual Overture, will be receiving a holiday themed makeover this December with our very special holiday-themed show, TEXTUAL HO HO HOVERTURE!

Currently, play submissions HAVE CLOSED for holiday-themed show scripts (5-10) for production or staged-reading. Readers for the plays will be Zero Untitled – NYC and Zero Untitled (Texas) folks: Anel Carmona, Beth Marie Cantu-Castillo, Katherine Orozco-Verderber, and Michael Verderber. Others will be given scripts as well.

The Zero Untitled – NYC team have not made a concrete decision on their selections, but that will be posted VERY soon!

The Texas production will be a collaboration with Bards Against Hunger, a NY-based poetry and fundraising organization. From their site: “Bards Against Hunger was founded in 2013 by the Bards Initiative, a poetry group on Long Island, NY that hosts many readings and publishes local anthologies.”

Performance will occur at Cafe 5 in Kingsville,  TX on December 16th.

Admission fee for the Texas production of Textual HO HO HOverture will be one (1) can of food.

Submission Guidelines:

• 5-10 minute plays
• 1-3 characters (monologues are acceptable)
• Simple light and sound demands
• Must have a Christmas or “Holidays” theme (scripts not fitting this category will be considered for future productions)
• 12-point Times New Roman ONLY
• Include short BIO information in your cover letter
• Email headline MUST read “Holiday Submission: __(name of your play)___”
• Deadline: December 3^rd
• Performance: mid-December, venues TBA
• NO Submission fee
• Only reading first 100 plays submitted
• Playwrights may submit no more than 2 plays
• NO musicals (sorry)
